Class Description: Algebra 2 A is the first semester of a full year course. The course begins with a review of linear and quadratic functions to solidify a foundation for learning new functions. Students make connections between verbal, numeric, algebraic, and graphical representations of functions and apply this knowledge as they create equations and inequalities that can be used to model and solve mathematical and real-world problems. Mathematical practices and habits of mind are embedded throughout the course, as students solve novel problems, reason abstractly, and think critically.
Recommended Grades: 9-12
Prerequisite: Completion of Geometry

Homework
Weekly homework will be assigned. It will be posted as pdf files in Canvas. Answers will be posted for all homework. Students are expected to complete and check homework by themselves. Teachers may go over selected homework problems at the beginning of each class.
Students should expect to spend 2 hours on homework problems each week.
