Class Description: This one-year (two semesters) course is intended for students who enjoy solving challenging mathematical problems while expanding their knowledge beyond regular classroom settings.
As our other problems solving courses, this is not a boot camp for any particular competition. However, students who participate our programs perform well in them. Students will not only learn arithmetic calculations but they will also be introduced to problem solving skills that will help them excel and build a strong foundation in math and science. This class helps young students master fundamental math concepts with practice and challenges.
Time Required: Students are expected to attend the weekly 2-hr lecture and the optional weekly 30-minute TA session where the teacher will go over each week’s homework problems and answer any questions students might have. Students are expected to spend around 1-1.5 hours on homework problems each week.
Who should take this course: Students who would like to improve their problem solving skills to prepare for future math competitions
Recommended Grades: 5-6
Max Class Size: 12
Note: After you add CM101 to your cart, you will be on the waiting list until it is approved by our staff (usually within one business day). If the student is in 4th Grade or below, the student will need to take the qualifying test first unless you have finished both CM100A and CM100B. After it is approved, you will receive an invoice. If it is not approved or if we need any additional information, we will contact you via email or phone.
